IPTV Middleware

IPTV Middleware

The NetUP IPTV Middleware is the central part of IPTV Complex as it ties subscribers' IP set-top boxes with the IPTV headend and defines the user experience.

Rich client technology – better performance

NetUP's IPTV Middleware includes two main parts - the Middleware server and STB Client, a native application developed in C++ loaded into an IP set-top box. Such a technology, which is often referred to as rich client IPTV middleware allows to achieve a much better perfomance of the user interface in comparison to any Web-based IPTV middleware, which is especially important in case of HD TV or HD video. At the same time the user interface is customizable.

The IPTV middleware system supports the following services:
  • live TV channels
  • radio
  • electronic program guide (EPG)
  • video on demand (VoD)
  • near video on demand (scheduled virtual cinema, nVoD)
  • time-shift TV, TV on demand (pause, fast forward/rewind TV programs)
  • financial/billing info
  • parental control, financial password, lock screen
  • Web browsing

NetUP's Middleware supports world leading IP set-top boxes: Amino, Telergy, D-Link, Teletec, etc.
